Glycolic Acid

Glycolic Acid Molecules

Glycolic acid belongs to a class of acids called alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) that are traditionally derived from natural sources. They are known to both exfoliate and plump the skin making AHAs some of the best ingredients for softening the appearance of wrinkles, decongesting acne-prone skin, correcting discolouration and dullness, and smoothing scarring and rough texture. However, on a molecular level, not all AHAs are built the same. The size of an AHA molecule affects how it works with your skin. Of all AHAs, glycolic acid has the smallest molecule, allowing it to penetrate your skin the deepest. That is why in our formulas, we only use the most superior AHA.

Our glycolic acid products act as multi-action peels by loosening several layers of dead and damaged skin cells enhancing the skin renewal process - the old cells are more efficiently replaced with new ones.

The exfoliating action of glycolic acid creates an optimal environment for the other natural ingredients found in our products to penetrate the fresh skin underneath with vitamin-rich and hydrating nourishment.

Studies have also shown that glycolic acid has moisture-binding and collagen-producing benefits within the surface layers, which helps the skin to retain two of the skin's key defenses against aging.
